Volunteer

Volunteers help to build our community by sharing their time, talents and/or treasures – thank you for your role in helping Oak Farm grow.

During the school year the Oak Farm faculty often need help with various projects – in and out of the classroom.  Examples of some of the projects are: laminating, material making, library help, and assisting in the kitchen.

Throughout the year we often need help with all school campus events such as Fall Festival, Grandparents Day, EarthFest, and the annual Tall Oak Gala. Some of the tasks that are needed for these include: parking lot assistance, stuffing envelopes, taking pictures, helping with set-up and tear-down.

These opportunities will be posted in our weekly Community Memo that is emailed, Facebook posts and specific emails as needed. If you are interested in being “on-call” for volunteer opportunities, please contact Nicole Lowe, Parent Volunteer Coordinator, at nlowe@oakfarmschool.com or by calling 260-897-4270.

The Oak Farm Parent Organization Information

The Oak Farm Parent Organization (OFPO) was created for the purpose of serving the school by cultivating community, volunteerism, and ownership of Oak Farm among the entire parent body. The Oak Farm Parent Organization is open to all parents & grandparents. There is no cost for membership, and you are free to come & go as your schedule allows.  The OFPO helps in planning various events at the school – Fall Festival, Earth Day Festival, Book Fair, and the Tall Oak Gala. They also help to organize various “treats” for the teachers throughout the school year – such as providing lunches on conference days and during teacher appreciation week.

The OFPO is made up of five teams – that you may request to serve as a Team Representative. The teams are:

MEMBERS – ALL parents or guardians who have a child enrolled at Oak Farm Montessori School

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM – Consists of the President & Vice President who work closely with the Parent Volunteer Coordinator and Head of School

EVENTS TEAM – Made up of a Representative & Co-Representative who help organize and facilitate various events during the school year

AMBASSADOR TEAM – Made up of a Representative & Co-Representative who match new families up with existing families to help nurture the school community

VOLUNTEER TEAM – Made up of a Representative & Co-Representative who work closely with the Parent Volunteer Coordinator to organize the various projects through the year
