Located less than 16 miles from the north side of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Oak Farm Montessori School opened its doors to students on January 24, 2000 with 20 students and is now proud of a whole school enrollment of over 200. The school is located on a 54-acre campus in Avilla, Indiana. The vast property allows the students to explore in a variety of environments including both farmland and a natural woodland. The school has a campus effect and consists of four classroom buildings:
- The Victorian Farmhouse (0-6 year olds)
- The Red Barn (6-9 year olds)
- The Green Farmhouse (9-12 year olds)
- The Brick House (12-15 year olds)
The school is committed to giving students the skills that they will need to succeed in the real world. Our children need more than a solid academic foundation. They also require the learning skills to enable them to adapt to a rapidly changing society.
Oak Farm Montessori recognizes and takes seriously, the opportunities to be a positive influence on the kind of adult that a child will one day become. We teach students to think, not simply to memorize the right answers, because we are convinced that learning the right answers is not enough. We must help students learn how to learn. This is preparation for life.
